The Tru-Load is a bench dummy load for testing amps. It employs a combination of inductance and resistance. The inductance is provided by an authentic moving speaker voice coil and motor assembly. A BNC sample O'Scope port is also provided as well as banana jacks to monitor the load voltage. The Tru-Load is switchable from 2 to 16 ohms and will handle 200 watts continuous. Just the load, please. For those who like to build things, we have the load resistor from the Tru-Load available separately. It is 200 watts and is available in 2, 4, 8, and 16 ohms. These are the motors from our MASS attenuators. Many techs like to use them to quietly test an amp with an authentic load so they can look for instabilities. These are speaker motors, they will blow up just like a speaker. So, don't think they are indestructible. We have 4, 8, and 16 ohm units available in power ratings of 50 and 100 watts. The red and black leads are 18" long. I would say the power ratings are conservative, RMS ratings, but I don't want to give the idea the motors are invincible. Be careful when using these and keep an eye on them if you are cranking an amp into them with heavy distortion.
